Drawing the Herbarium Workshop

Drawing the Herbarium was designed as a first step into the world of botanical drawing. Working from two-dimensional pressed specimens, participants learned how to look beyond the plant’s flattened appearance, understand how its different parts connect, and translate these relationships into shapes, lines, and colors. Through short demonstrations, individual guidance, and a range of complementary techniques, they gradually developed their observations into a complete artistic herbarium page. By the end of the workshop, each participant went home with a beautiful finished piece they had created themselves—and a new way of seeing and understanding plants.
