From Plant to Icon workshops

From Plant to Icon is a creative workshop in which participants explore how a living plant can be translated into a visual symbol. They begin by closely observing its structure, shapes, patterns, and distinctive details, then learn how to simplify and reinterpret these elements without losing the plant’s unique character. Through sketching and visual experimentation, they develop their own icons while reflecting on how plants can carry personal memories, cultural identities, and stories of place. By the end of the workshop, each participant creates an original plant-inspired design and gains skills in observation, abstraction, composition, and visual storytelling. So far, a three workshop has been hosted with 26 students in total, and there are more in the upcoming months.
